Ground source heat pumps

JUNKERS is proud to present its ground source heat pump (GSHP) product series, with the help of which, consumers can use renewable and cost-saving sources of energy.

Advantages

The unique Mitsubishi scroll-technology compressor has high efficiency, the coefficient of performance (COP) being up to 5.0. 65 °C standard water circuit flow temperature, lower noise level, complex solution for new and renovated buildings. Acknowledged Bosh quality. The most economising, cleanest and safest source of energy is located right under your house – the ground. It is an inexhaustible source of energy, which thanks to geothermal energy is available all the year round. With the help of the JUNKERS ground source heat pump technology, you will have the chance of using that source of energy to satisfy your heating and hot water needs.

Completely independent and future-proof

Comfort and safety

Extremely economical

JUNKERS heat pumps are ideally suited to be the only source of fuel and hot water for one-family houses or semi-detached houses.

Our product series includes heat pumps with 6–70 kW capacity and 65 °C water circuit flow temperature.

How does the heat pump work?

In essence, almost every household already uses a heart pump: it is called a fridge. Ground source heat pump works on the basis of a similar principle, just “the other way round”. A fridge separates warmth from the food products stored in it and channels it out of the fridge via the back wall. A ground source heat pump separates warmth from ground the same way, raises its temperature and transports it to you in the form of heating and hot water.

A ground source heat pump can produce 100% of the necessary heating and hot water for your home with the help of up to 75% of free geothermal energy and 25% of electric energy necessary to process it.

How is energy collected from the ground?

There are two ways to get the energy from the ground.

1. With a horizontal ground collector, piping will be installed in the depth of about 1 m in the ground. Such a solution is best suited in cases when the property where piping is installed is big enough.

2. An alternative to the horizontal ground collector is a vertical ground collector. A hole that is 60-400 metres deep will be drilled and the collector will be installed in it. Usage of a vertical ground source heat collector minimises the amount of land that is necessary for installing the piping.

Why choose a Junkers heat pump?

More free energy. The heart of a geothermal heat pump is a compressor. JUNKERS heat pumps are supplied with a compressor that uses the highly effective Mitsubishi scroll-technology and that yields a coefficient of performance of up to 5.0. This means that one kWh of electric energy produces up to 5.0 kWh of heating energy.

More hot water

The maximum standard water circuit flow of JUNKERS heat pumps is 65 °C. This enables to use JUNKERS heat pumps in heating systems that are being renovated, not just in new buildings. The temperature 65 °C means that the hot water amount that can be used in the household is by around 45% bigger and using hot water is more comfortable.

Less noise

All JUNKERS geothermal pumps work very quietly since the Mitsubishi patented technology enables optimum use of compressor blades. Thus a Junkers heat pump can be installed near living quarters without having to fear disturbing noise.

JUNKERS heat pumps are meant to be the only source of heating and hot water for a building and are available in two versions. Compact version TE is meant to produce hot water with the help of a hot water boiler that is connected to the heat pump to produce hot water. A module version TM includes a 163 litre built-in hot water boiler. A device fully ready to be installed. Built-in stainless steel hot water boiler (only TM). Built-in collector contour and heating contour pumps. Built-in additional electric heater. Electronic starting current guard. Highly effective, the coefficient of performance (COP) is up to 5.0. Water circuit flow temperature of up to 65 °C. Quiet and compact.
